Are you someone who enjoys planning Easter lunch down to the smallest detail? Does the thought of serving pieces, menu planning, and tablescapes make your heart swoon? If not, bless your heart, but I've got you covered with some Easter hosting tips.
Here are 6 EGGcellent Easter hosting tips:
Keep the guest list manageable. Consider your space and seating capacity to avoid overextending yourself. If needed, arrange to borrow extra tables and chairs.
Plan your menu. Decide on the dishes you’ll be serving. My go-to source for menus and recipes is Southern Living. If you don’t want to cook everything yourself ask for help. Have your guest bring a dish. {Extra tip -- make sure to tell your guest to bring their dish ready to serve. You don’t need them homesteading in your kitchen to finish up their dish!}
Create a shopping list. Make a comprehensive list of all the ingredients you’ll need. Remember to take inventory of plates, utensils, cups, etc. Plan to shop a few days ahead to avoid crowds and give yourself some room for things that come up at the last minute.
Prepare in advance. Many dishes can be prepared ahead of time and save you a lot of stress. Prepping ingredients, marinating meats, and baking desserts early can reduce stress. And we all know a good casserole can be made ahead and just popped in the oven about 30 minutes before needed. {Extra tip -- get your serving pieces out, put a sticky note on them and arrange them so you know where everything goes. {I told you I live for this kind of stuff}
Set the table. Other than baking desserts this may be my favorite thing. I {might} be a little extra on this step BUT you do what works for you. Simple details can make the table extra special. Use a tablecloth and fun napkins. Pull out MawMaw’s silverware. Use your dyed Easter eggs, grocery store {or better yet from your yard} flowers, and some Easter-themed decorations to create a festive table.
Have fun and create lasting tales. Remember the most important detail is gathering around the table with your loved ones, enjoying each others company, and creating memories. Don’t strive for perfection -- that’s unrealistic. Laughter and shared moments are what truly matter.
